The 10th Regional Conference about Safe and Profitable Investing in Energy “BALKAN – THE NEW EUROPEAN ENERGY SOURCE” will take place on Wednesday, 20th March 2013 in Sava Centre endorsed and supported by the Ministry of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection of Republic of Serbia.

The Conference will focus on investors and recipients, accentuating the possible improvements in the environment for secure investments with the aim of highlighting the bankability of Energy projects for investors including market analyze the benefits and possible improvements in investment procedures.

Over 300 participants are expected amongst whom will be high level representatives from EU institutions, United Nations, World Bank, departmental ministers, most significant institutions and companies as development bearers of various industries related to energy, IT and financial sector as well as leading media.

At the Opening Ceremony /9.30 a.m./ the introductory word will be presented by Prof. Dr Zorana Mihajlovic, Minister of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection of Republic of Serbia, Mr. Pál Kovács, Minister of State for Climate and Energy Affairs, Hungarian State Ministry of National Development, and H.E. Mr. Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Ambassador, Republic of Turkey

The Conference is organized in five panels focused on key issues related to the future of energy in Serbia and Region:
  • Profitable and Safe Investing in Energy of Serbia and Balkans
  • Rational energy management and sustainable energy future
  • Electricity Market – Energy potentials and achieving comparable trade volume
  • Energy Efficiency, potentials and development strategies from renewable energy sources
  • The Market of Natural Gas, Oil and Oil Derivates

In order to encourage new business opportunities that would guide investments to essential and attractive projects thus securing the competitiveness of energy market in the Region, suggestions and guidelines for realistic perspective will be presented by the panellists:

The Conference will conclude with the Presentation Ceremony of “Brand Leader” Award. The Award has been presented continuously for the last nine years to the most prominent and inventive companies and institutions that have through continuous positive growth and innovative strategies, set higher standards thus improving the energy market. The Awards are presented based on the market research and standardized criteria including continuous development, high degree of market recognition, the influence and effect on energy efficiency enhancement as well as strengthening the status of energy sector in the Region. The Awards are also presented to the media with highest contribution in with the highest contribution in reporting high quality information with continuous focus on the significance of elevating the level of competitiveness in one of the most important industries – energy sector.
